High mountain huts “Barrels-Garabashi" – alpine summit camp located on the slope of Mount Elbrus at an altitude of 3750 m. By opinion of many climbers and guides its considered to be the most optimal altitude for acclimatization and rest before climbing the mountain. 

In the huts “Gara-Bashi" 11 so-called “barrels” with 6 places in each and a total of 66 places. Each barrel has its own permanent power supply and seperate electric heating. 

There are 2 separate rooms in one barrel. The first room is a corridor for storing personal belongings and there is a wash basin and 2 windows. The second spacious room with 6 beds and a large panoramic window with beautiful view to mountain ridge and Elbrus.

All barrels are wooden inside which creates a cozy and comfortable atmosphere. Full replacement of all beds and all inside repair was made in 2018 year.

All beds are single-level and there are places for storing things under the beds (no 2 level beds). Mattresses, pillows and blankets are provided. But for your convenience it is better to have sleeping bag with you and summer sleeping bags is also enough as its quite warm inside.

There is constant electricity and heaters in each barrel. Sockets for chargers. Heating can be regulated independently. The barrel always hot enough as also during the day heats up in the sun and in the evening the heat stays. The form of barrel allows good air circulation and therefore our tourists note that the temperature inside is always comfortable, not stuffy and not too hot.
